[Review]SD Gundam Next (Gachapon)

Out of nostalgia, I got a new gachapon SD Gundam. It's not the usual SD gundam of older years, as now the shoulder and waist section of it can be move, back and forth.

 Everything inside the gachapon

The moveable part of the SD gundam, the shoulder-arm section and the waist section (the T-shape one)

 SD Double Zeta appear!

[WIP] GM Type C 'Wagtail" Part 2

Basically the parts build up.

Chest:

Backpack:

Head:

Arms:

Shoulder:

 Feet:

Waist:

Legs:

Did a slight error, one of the handle above is broken because I didn't think things through.

Shield:

Beam Rifle:

And below are some action poses.

Thoughts:

I love the design after putting the whole Wagtail together! The only funny thing I found about the kit...despite it being a MS for close quarter combat, and having 4 beam sabers on it's person (2 on the shoulder, and 2 in the shield), none of them are usable! They are molder together with the shoulder piece and the shield attachment piece.

And the GM type C kit doesn't help in that department either. Despite the GM type C having the beam saber hilt in the kit, the GM type C kit doesn't have the beam saber part! ^_^;;

My solution?

Use the GM type C beam hilt, find an extra beam saber part from my other kits! The beam saber part I used came from my HG Jegan. The beam saber doesn't really fit in the beam saber hilt for the GM type C, but I was able to make it fit by cutting some excess off and trimming it down.

[WIP] GM Type C "Wagtail"

On to a new project! (Even though I still have a lot of kits that still need some work done on them too ^_^;;)

This here is the GM Type C [Wagtail].

It's a conversion kit. Meaning you have to have:
1) The base kit
2) The conversion parts.

I got the conversion parts from the May 2011 issue of Dengeki Hobby.

Front
Back

But due to a lot of RL issue, work, study and just plain laziness, I didn't manage to get the base kit to use the conversion parts on.

And two years went by...

But no more!

I finally manage to get the RGM-79C GM Type C, the base form for the conversion part. I would have started earlier, but the local hobby shops had run out of the GM type C by then. Luckily their back in stock now.

Below are the conversion part runner that came with the magazine:

So the runner are all white...lots of painting a head of me ^_^;;  Hope I don't make a mess of the paint as I always do in my kits.

Above is the colours I would want to use for my Wagtail, but we'll see how that goes.

[Preview] Figure-rise 6: Black Lotus

[Preview] Figure-rise 6: Black Lotus

So I been thinking of doing some changes for my site content. I'm just going to put [ ] before each title to tell viewer what each is about.

In this case, this is my [Preview] of Bandai's Figure-rise No.6 Black Lotus. It's a preview because I won't be building this kit itself. It will be a present to my cousin :)

Below are the image preview of the box, and it's content:

Box Art, Black Lotus looking pretty menacing there

 The manual

 The runners!

 And it's good of Bandai to include a stand for Black Lotus. She wouldn't be able to stand otherwise ^_^;;

The clear parts. They are in transparent purple, a pretty unique colour in terms of gunpla, but a must for Black Lotus.

Thoughts:

I'm impress Bandai! This look amazing, make me want to put Black Lotus together myself ^^

From the box art, the runners, and the manual that will look good in any gunpla box. Plus points for the stand as well as the clear part, some which are effect parts!

Overflag (Poses)

After taking the pictures and uploading them...I realise one thing. I need a better camera! MY phone camera is decent for snapshots, not so good for model kit capturing. But I think I did ok with what I had to make do with.

The pic above was suppose to show off that it has missile hidden in it's leg...not sure if I caught that well.

Comparing the height of this 1/100 Overflag with my Canaan Nendoroid! ^^

Overflag

Brought this kit recently when I went down to time square. I always loved the design of the Overflag from OO Gundam. I didn't know there was actually a 1/100 version of it, I had just planned to get the regular 1/144 HG version.

The runner pieces inside the kit, pretty simple. What you expect from a HG kit, even though it doesn't say on the box, but these 1/100 non grade kits are pretty much 1/100 HG kits.

The instruction manual for the kit. Liking the cover page, an Overflag in maintenance.

Chest piece, pretty unique chest piece I have to say.

Only part of the chest that need to be colour. Tried some masking technique. For the most part it turn out ok.

I have to say, beside the fact that it look cool and transform, the head piece was the thing that sold me on the design.

Waist part. Also another unique piece, that you won't see in most kits. Partly because of the way it transform I suspect, and also because of it's unique look and design element.

The kit has three set of hands. Two normal closed fist ones, and one open right hand. And man does it look good! The open hand almost look like the fingers can be moved individually! Plus for the kit :)

Here is the whole upper body completed and assembled.

Part of the gun that needs to be painted white. No masking required this time!

Tiny humans figures. One is of course Graham, the other two you wouldn't be surprise how well they would go in regular army model kits. One of them is those flight control personnel.

Clear part that I sprayed with clear blue. Graham's custom Overflag come with the gun piece painted blue, so blue it is!

I'll post more once I have more poses.
